New Hindi Movies No Problem! Your Thanksgiving free movie list is just two movies long, but what movies! Unlike Halloween (that I offered you a list of 100 free scary movies here), Thanksgiving uses a different twist. Neither could well be specific to Thanksgiving, however they relate to some themes of the holiday. Frankly, I can enjoy these free movies for Thanksgiving and for any day with the year.

Big oil company propaganda having a heart! Just the free movie we'd like for Thanksgiving! This 78-minute semi-documentary from 1948 is one with the most lyrical American films ever made. In 1994, The Louisiana Story was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry from the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant." It is the story of a Cajun boy and the family, living around the bayous you might say of life that we can barely imagine.
The boy's family rents land for the oil company, which comes in, drills, leaving everything the same as it was, clean and unspoiled with the exception that the family features a little more money. (Yes, it had been funded through the Standard Oil Company.)
The boy spends most of his time on his narrow boat (pirogue), floating down the bayous, prime snake and alligator habitat, along with his pet raccoon. He never wears a life preserver or shoes... doesn't actually have a cell phone to call in case he gets in danger. There is not much story, merely a celebration (such stunning monochrome photography that you can well wonder just what the big deal is approximately color) of a way of life that is no longer with us.
All from the actors were amateurs, as well as for most, it was their only film. As of April 2007, J.C. Boudreaux, who totally boy, was surviving in a FEMA trailer together with his wife of fifty-five years, after Hurricane Rita destroyed their home. (source). A black and white silent film that ends with a woman being burned alive? Oh, yes, what exactly every family needs at Thanksgiving. But, I have three good reasons for including The Passion of Joan of Arc within this pair of free movies for Thanksgiving.
First, I am thankful that The Passion of Joan of Arc was ever produced. Second, I am thankful that The Passion of Joan of Arc was preserved. The director Carl Theodor Dreyer (more) died convinced that the last copy have been destroyed. In a bit of weirdness that sounds much more a movie compared to the truth, an almost complete print was found in 1981 in a janitor's closet of the Norwegian mental institution.
Finally, I am grateful we can watch this magnificent film, on many lists with the greatest films of them all, at no cost online at Gloria.tv, a Roman Catholic video site.
Maria Falconetti (more), who plays Joan, suffered a psychological breakdown during the making with this film, and she never made another film. Pauline Kael (more), a notoriously demanding film critic, declared Falconetti's performance "may function as finest performance ever recorded on film."
